Mustang Endurance Men’s Summer Season Update!
The men’s team produced lifetime bests across the country on the track and road circuit. In the opening meet of the year Adam Marshall posted a 1500m best of 3:49.97 at the Portland track festival. Adam also placed 2nd at the VFAC distance classic mile (4.13.74). James Lam ran a mile seasons best finishing 3rd at the VFAC distance classic mile (4.14:98). Lam produced a 1500m lifetime best at the Pacific Distance Carnival of 3:51.23 finishing a fine 5th in a quality field. Lam also placed 2nd at the Victoria Invite with a 3,000m personal best of 8:33.51.

Mustang athlete Ron Loewen posted bests in the 800m, 1500m, and 3,000m then took to the highland games in Scotland. Ron competed at a number of events and finished 3rd overall in the Fife League. Nick Colyn competed at the Canadian Championships in Montreal and placed a fine 6th place in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase (9:00.11). Tyler Dejong had a season best in both the 800m (1.55:05) and 1500m (3.57:31) taking 2nd place at the Pacific Invitational in Langley and Portland Twilight Meet.

Dean Ellenwood produced a lifetime best in the 800m running 1.51:09 taking 2nd place in a competitive field at the Coffee Club Classic in Victoria. Ellenwood showed great form taking three victories in a row in July. Dean recorded 800m wins at the Pacific Invitational, Jesse Bent invite and Harry Jerome International. Aidan Kits had a great season recording personal bests over 400m (50.51) and 800m (1:55.50). Kits took 2nd at the Jesse Bent invite.

Nathan Wadhwani ran a 10,000m lifetime best posting 29.30:49 at the Mt Sac Relays in California. Caleb Dejong also produced personal bests over 10km and half marathon this summer on the road. At the BMO Vancouver half marathon Dejong placed 3rd overall and first Canadian with 65:08. In the Vancouver Summerfast 10km Caleb was victorious winning in a new 10km best time of 29.51.

The men’s team are now looking to build into the cross country season with the Canadian National Cross Country Championships being held in Abbotsford on November 30th 2019. The team will next compete at the BC Provincial Cross Country Championships October 26th on Vancouver Island.
