| Family Background | Rebecca is the middle child of 9 (6 girls and 3 boys). She grew up on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo, BC. Rebecca comes from a family of many runners, including her parents and younger sister. |
| Intro to Running | Growing up, Rebecca participated in many sports including swimming, dance, gymnastics, and figure skating. Being very active and competitive, sports were a big part of Rebecca's childhood. Following the footsteps of her older siblings, Rebecca joined a "Track Rascals" program at the local track and field club. Rebecca would tag along in the cross-country practices before she was old enough to join. When Rebecca turned nine she joined the cross-country and track and field team. Leading into high school, she joined both the cross-country and track and field teams. By grade 11, Rebecce began to focus more on her running which led into university. |
