Mustang endurance athlete Regan Yee represented Canada in her first ever IAAF World Championships competing in the women’s 3000m steeplechase.

Regan was drawn in heat 3 against some strong competition. She showed great confidence leading the opening lap and pushed the pace early on. The eventual winner Kiyeng (of Kenya) moved into the lead at 1km and Regan finished strongly in 11th position. Unfortunately this was not enough to progress to the final. Canadian team-mate Genevieve Lalonde ran close to her national record of 9:30.10 to take the last qualifying spot for the final. We are so proud of Regan representing Langley mustangs endurance on the world stage and this experience provides a great build for her with the Tokyo Olympics next year!
